Black Panther: Represents a movement of empowerment

Black Panther

The Black Panther movie made history with a mind bottling estimated 201.8 million at the box office.  This was not just a movie but a movement.  The movie reflected positive images of African American men and women who represented black and brown people.  Black Panther gave us heritage, legacy, and family.  Most importantly it showed us how a country can become divided and how greed can divide a nation.  Another thing that Black Panther showed us was how others tried to take credit for technological advancements of a nation.

I love the image of a Black King portrayed in Black Panther because family, heritage, and legacy is something that is important in the Black Family yet it’s lacking in today’s society due to lack of knowledge.  This gives one inspiration to want to get the knowledge to understand ones heritage in order to leave a legacy.

Black PantherBlack Panther was a hero to us all played by Chadwick Boseman in his role as King Tchalla.   He represented a movement for his people to stand against corruption.  There was a message there for us today with the current corruption against black men and women fighting for injustice.  We  loved Michael B. Jordan performance as Kilmonger in Black Panther.  His role portrayed the hurt and pain of what family secrets will do to the innocent.

The women in the movie were warriors, protectors, and queens of power.  We loved the women in Black Panther Angela Bassett, Lupita Nyong’o, Letitia Wright, and Danai Gurira.  These women represented the truth for women of all ages because it was inspiring and empowering.  Our favorites for her break out role Letitita Wright as Shuri and General Okoye played by Danaia Gurira, and lets not forget Nakia played by Lupita Nyong’o.

Overall, this was a amazing movie that was long over due.  A box office hit worldwide is truly representing a change in 2018 for Black Hero’s.  It’s a wonderful representation of African Americans in a positive roles on the big screen.   It was perfect that Marvel studio released this movie during Black History Month.  Our hats off to the talented director Ryan Coogler, a young black man making an impact on Hollywood.
