At the end of January, I had the pleasure to sit down and talk with Ms. Janice Montgomery Albokai-Strauser. In 2004, she launched JMA Publishing which is 100% minority owned by a woman small business. Besides creating her publishing company, she created the first radio talk show for small business owners called The Voice of Small Business in 2005. In 2011, she launched a powerful conference for women called “We Can Do It”- Positive Connection for Women Conference this year being held in Atlanta, Tucson, Dallas, and Austin, Texas. Ms. Albokai-Strauser talks about how she started the conference, it’s purpose, the message, and she gives advice for aspiring women who want to open their own business. Take a listen to our interview.
She is a living testimony to empower women to be all that they can be. Ms. Janice stresses the importance of women especially black women to uplift one another, support one another, empower, and encourage each other.
