I had the pleasure to sit down and talk with Sharon Lucas about her resource guide titled Plan It, a complete guide for authors, book clubs, and literary event planners. She takes her years of experience and creates a resourceful guide that is truly helpful to authors, book clubs, new authors, and event planners.
Plan It is packed with helpful information that can be a great resource for new authors, established authors, book clubs, and literary event planners. Here is a summary about Plan It, available in stores and amazon.
The African American author is often overworked, overlooked and underrated. That coupled with the closing of many bookstores, which had long been the gathering place for these authors, and the emergence of E-readers, has changed the way in which our writers and readers meet and converse. Though book clubs have long been a cornerstone of the African American community, at no other time in our history has it been more important for readers to support African American authors and to help fill the void left by the closing of our brick and mortar stores.
Sharon talks about what inspired her to write the resource guide and what’s next for her as an author. She also gives advice to authors and aspiring writers. Take a listen to our interview.
