The question was posed, What’s eating Gilbert Grape?   A more personal question would be, what’s eating you?  What are you allowing to consume your thoughts and your energy that offers nothing towards your goals or well-being?  Wasting time on anything that does not prosper you is really just a waste of time.

We all are blessed with the same 24 hours in a day.  What separates successful people versus complacent people is how their time is spent.  Successful people realize they are always racing against the clock, and they use their time wisely.  Complacent people utilize their time for temporary pleasures.  It really is a matter of what you do with your time that determines your level of success.

A lot of people go a life time wondering what their gift is.  Why am I here and for what purpose do I serve?  Your gift is the one thing that makes your eyes sparkle when you talk.  Your voice takes on a different tone, because you just can’t hide your excitement.  It’s the one thing you do and do well.  Don’t minimize your gift.  No matter how big or how small it may seem, your gift is your purpose.

Once you identify your gift, it becomes harder to deny your true calling.  Denying what has been instilled in your very soul will only leave you feeling empty.  You may start to feel like a ship without a sail.  Going aimlessly through life.

You will have many setbacks and the road will be filled with obstacles.  Never lose sight of your faith.  Just know that it will be worth every effort and sacrifice you make in the end.  There are many resources that will help you put your plan in action.  Sometimes you have to humble yourself and solicit assistance from people who can help take your goals to the next level.

Keep your circle small and with like-minded individuals.  There can be many people who do what you do, but do they do it like you?  Do they put their heart and soul into it?  Remember it’s your brand and your name attached to your brand.

More importantly, know who to confide in and share your dreams with.  Many claim to support you, but most secretly are praying for your downfall.  They see in you what they wish they could be.  These people are called dream killers and will suck the life out of you.  Yet, they can also help motivate you to push harder in order not to fail.  They just need to be escorted to the balcony.  The front row is reserved for your actual squad who will cheer you on to victory.

Your gift will make room for you.  It can also help bless someone else.  Your gift may be the missing piece that someone else needs to complete their task.  The time is now.  No more excuses.  No more wasted time.  Now is the time to go get your blessing.  It’s out there waiting on YOU!
