This week’s author spotlight on Sistah’s Place is with Breanne Bergie. Her book is titled True Bliss released this past August of this year 2020. This is her debut romance novel that is apart of a series. Breanne will give you the opportunity to learn a little about her and what inspired her journey to become a writer. Breanne, tell our readers a little about who you are.
Breanne Bergie grew up with her face always in a book. Romance has remained the top genre she loved. She’s passionate about a good mystery which happens to be what she enjoys writing the most. She loved reading many types of Harlequin books. Her favorite, a Romantic Mystery. She likes to draw her readers in through emotions and situations that take place in her books. Whether it makes you cry, laugh, fall in love, or get angry right along with the characters.
Breanne Bergie is in her early 30’s and resides in London Ontario, Canada. Her hobbies include gardening, reading, photography, baking vegan treats, and arts. Her greatest passion is writing. She’s been married to her devoted husband for many years. Throughout those years she’s been blessed with three children and three lovable dogs.
What was it that made you decide to write True Bliss?
I decided to start to write all because of my English teacher back in high school. She told me I should keep up with my writing and I did. I would just write for myself until one day I stopped as life got in the way. I discovered an app with a free writing community on it. All the writer’s seemed helpful and supportive so I decided to give it a try and that’s how True Bliss all began. I wanted to see the reactions I received from writer’s and readers alike. To see if I had what it took to possibly turn my writing into actual books. I received a lot of positive feedback and also good criticism to help strengthen my writing. I’m forever grateful to all those that did because it has helped me on my journey and to get where I am today.
What inspired your book title?
What inspired my book title of True Bliss was the series title and I called it TRUE. I wanted book titles that were all linked to the series title and the word TRUE. That was the very first that inspired me for the book title. The next was the actual story as I knew where the story would lead and what would happen. It’s a story of true and real life situations that can happen to anyone with the mix of a blissful love story. So, came to life the title of True Bliss. True Bliss is a romantic fiction.
Without giving too much away, tell us what True Bliss story is about.
True Bliss is a story about a young girl who meets a boy and they grow up together. Merissa is very close with Joel and they are friends, but she feels an undeniable attraction towards him that only grows as time goes on. He’s everything she wants and needs, but she’s unsure if Joel feels the same. Real life situations get in the way as time goes on in both of their lives, but they always manage to find their way back to one another. One question always runs through Merissa’s mind. Should she tell Joel how she feels or keep it to herself?
Is there a message you like readers to walk away with after reading your book?
The message I wanted readers to walk away with after they read True Bliss is to not always assume everyone’s life is perfect. Everyone has their flaws and their own stories of how they came to be. Even couples who never thought their own love story could come to be.
What makes your book stand out from other authors in your genre?
What makes True Bliss stand out from all the rest is it’s a passionate love story that’s true to real life. It’s not the perfect fairy tale and has those elements of real-life obstacles that Joel and Merissa both must face together and apart. The real-life elements are what truly makes it stand out from all the rest.
What is next for you as an author and will there be more books?
The next thing I’m working towards besides self-publishing is traditional publishing and getting my books ready for that. I feel the sky is the limit for me as an author and I want to give it my all. Not only in my writing, but as an author and wanting what’s best for my work. I work hard to grab my reader’s attention. To pull them in through emotions and situations my characters face. I work hard for that and I want my work to be recognized just like any other author would. So, the skies the limit for me and I have so much more in store.
There are many more books to come. The TRUE Series contains two other books besides True Bliss. They are called, Truly Undercover and True Devotion. I have a side book that’s romantic suspense coming soon called Love In Quarantine. It recently won an award for the 2020 Share The Love Writing Contest and I’m so excited to share that with more of my readers. It has a sequel coming as well called Love In Tragedy and I’m starting a brand-new series called MISTER. I’m looking towards expanding my writing into the romantic paranormal with a vampire series and also an erotica/BDSM series in the future.
